Role: Industrial Design
Aria is a compact air purifier designed to be used in smaller, closed environments such as offices where there is insufficient
air circulation. The plant intself filters toxins to provide cleaner air and doubles as decoration for an unobtrusive purifier in your personal space.
Based on the studies conducted by NASA, the plant roots purify indoor air from volatile organic chemicals such as formaldehyde
and benzene. After the air has passed through the HEPA filter, it is exposed to the plant root soil that is mixed with gravel and activated carbon.
The absorbed toxins can be utilized as a food source for the microorganisms of the plant, thereby bio-regenerating the carbon.
